These rose water and toner skincare recipes are the simplest and most meditative recipes we have given you so far! The scents of the skincare products will have you relaxed in no time. Seriously — it’s been proven!
Rose water is refreshing and soothing to the skin, and the scent is known to calm stress. The scent is quite subtle, and if it does bother you, try placing fewer rose petals in the water next time.
One negative aspect of rose water is that, while it is great at reducing the size and redness of pimples, it is not quick to eliminate the acne. Therefore, we recommend using a toner as well to put an end to your larger pimples. The recipe for the toner is two ingredients, and even better– it smells like apple cider!
When using other skincare products with the rose water in the same skin regimen, spray the rose water on your face as the last step. This will leave your skin feeling refreshed and smelling great all day (or night), while helping you relax after a stressful day!
The essential oil from the rose petals help reduce the size of acne and relieve rosacea because the essential oil reduces redness and inflammation, while balancing the skins ph levels, according to WebMD.
More so, the essential oil is proven to reduce blood pressure and cortisol, “the stress hormone.”
By placing the rose petals in water, and letting it simmer on medium to low heat, the essential oils are removed from the rose petals and into the water, allowing you to spritz the essential oils onto your face. The water is a medium that helps extract the essential oils from the rose petals.
Coincidentally, I experimented the rose water during finals week. This is why I stressed, err — mentioned, that the scent of the roses helped ease stress. Also, creating the rose water was quite meditative, temporarily taking my mind off the stress and focusing one making the rose water.
After spraying the rose water on my skin, my face felt instantly revitalized. I also sprayed on the rose water at night, and when I woke up the next morning, my skin felt smooth and still smelled slightly like roses.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is full of acid that helps eliminate bacteria, clearing breakouts. This property is great for acne prone skin.
It also helps to balance the skin’s Ph levels, which reduces redness, evening out skin tone.
Water will reduce the apple cider’s acidity, which can be too harsh on skin by itself.
The toner cleared away the “stress acne” I had on my chin and on my forehead after only using it for five days. It is stronger than I thought it would be, so I recommend using it sparingly or every other day. Just make sure you let your skin take the time to adjust to new products to avoid dryness.
